Just as Euljiro transformed into the iconic 'Hipjiro,' this place lies tucked inside a weathered market alley, making the title 'Hip-Cheongryang' feel immediately fitting. In contrast to its old-school exterior, opening the door reveals a highly aesthetic interior, which is why it has quickly captured the hearts of trendsetting young crowds who pack the venue daily as a designated hot spot. The intriguing contrast between the neighborhood’s vintage traces and a trendy mood makes it an absolute paradise for capturing Instagrammable snapshots. The true highlight of this cafe is its artisanal dessert line-up that features creative visuals and rich flavors. Their signature mugwort rice cake-style cake delivers a dense, thick texture alongside the deeply aromatic and earthy bitterness of mugwort, flawlessly targeting the popular 'halmeenial' (granny-taste preferred by youth) palate. The Earl Grey fig cake is another masterpiece, where the subtle fragrance of black tea blends beautifully with the sweet, crunchy textures of dried figs, making it impossible to stop eating. However, the vintage-themed roasted grain latte(Misutgaru) came across as a bit too sweet, so pairing it with a less sugary beverage or a classic Americano might be a better option.
