An overdue post, was here last November and actually had dinner at their old location before and enjoyed myself thoroughly so decided to give their new location a try. The ambience is pretty decent but the restaurant is actually much smaller than I had expected which is fine. The view is pretty nice but not as wow as I was expecting. The food was still nice but this time the dinner set was much more expensive compared to the first time I visited at their old location which I totally understand however the food quantity and quality did not improve as much as I had expected. The food is still good but what made me really upset was the fact that we were paying almost 2k per person that night and the dessert that they served was a poached pear, a literal pear and was not even served a whole pear. There was a dollop of cream and some sauce and that was it I cook and bake a lot and I could’ve made this at home myself. This was totally unexpected for a restaurant where I’m paying so much for dinner. Their portions were also really small so we were still not very full when we left. They also had an add on hot drink which was almost $100 and it was a small teacup of a very sweet apple hot drink which again I could’ve made it at home. There was 2 of us and we only had 1 sourdough to share while the westerner next to us dining alone had one whole sourdough to himself and when we asked for more, they wanted to charge us more money which naturally miffed us quite a bit. Overall, I left very disappointed and with such a bad taste in my mouth, wouldn’t come back nor recommend it to anyone. For this price, you are better off somewhere else. Impressive dining experience at aera! Booked this restaurant to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and it was very enjoyable and satisfying. Everything is amazing, from food, wine paring to the warm service. Perfect for causal dining or any special occasion! 10/10, looking forward to out next visit!
