Brut! Was supposed to be a cute little birthday dinner. Service was fine, food came out well. A few dishes were decent but really small portions. One particular dish was inedible. The steak. The good, the sauces were nice but the bad was properly bad, the skirt steak was by far the chewiest piece, we've had, it felt like we were chewing gum. We weren't sure if it was supposed to be like that because I couldn't quite fathom how bad it was and for the price of $348HKD, quite unacceptable. In hindsight we should have sent it back but after trying to chew the pieces we just left it. We told them at the end of the meal and they did take the feedback on and gave 10% off the meal. Understandably there can be off days but actually considering the steak itself was completely inedible (like we had to chew and spit it out), I actually think that should have been removed. Otherwise vibes are cosy and seems like a nice neighbourhood joint overall. Wouldn't recommend to friends though. Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Order type: Dine in Price per person: $400–450

Hi Cindy,Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review. We’re genuinely sorry that the steak let you down, especially during what should have been a lovely birthday dinner. My name is Joe and I’m the manager at Brut. Unfortunately, I wasn’t at the restaurant during your visit but I’ve spoken with the team about your feedback. There’s absolutely no defence for a steak being as tough as you’ve described and we really wish we’d known while you were dining so we could have replaced it for you there and then. We understand why you feel our 10% reduction didn’t go far enough. We’re glad there were still some things you enjoyed about your visit and we take your feedback seriously. I’d really like the opportunity to give you the experience you should have had, so please email me when you’d like to return at [email protected] and I’ll make sure we look after you.
