Visited twice so far and have only tried the iced long black. The coffee leans on the brighter, more acidic side. Not quite my preferred profile, but still clean and well made. I might try their filter coffee next time, which seems to suit better based on the menu description. The cafe itself has a strong design vibe. A large island bar dominates the centre, with colourful ceiling panels and warm lighting that give the space a modern, slightly experimental feel. Seating is quite limited though. Most of the space is standing tables along the sides, with only a few stools outside. It feels more like a quick coffee stop than a place to sit and chill with friends. Still a good spot for well-crafted coffee, especially if you enjoy brighter specialty beans. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $1–10 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The best coffee in Singapore so far. I haven't had coffee this good in a long time. The team have a lot of experience with coffee and it shows. The café's design is beautiful and has a lot of personality. I've read reviews complaining that people can't sit down and have to drink their coffee standing up. Being Spanish, this is very familiar to me and for me it's a big plus. The coffee isn't meant for a slow morning; it needs the right amount of time to prevent oxidation and maintain all its properties and temperature. The bar reminds me of traditional Italian cafes. The food is wonderful and goes well with coffee. My favorites: cortado, tuna melt, sourdough baguette baked by Saga and Spanish platter. The pastries change regularly and they usually have new items. The service is impeccable, the staff at the cashier guided me and explained the variety of coffees they have (they rotate the coffee every week according to the season). If you're looking for a place where you're treated well, the service is excellent and you value the flavor of the coffee above all else (even more than a slow morning): this is your place. Cata Coffee 56 Joo Chiat Place Singapore 427780 Location = This place is abit difficult to access without a car. But you can always take Bus 33 and the nearest MRT station would be Marine Parade Station ( use Exit 3). Decor / Ambience ************************* Cata Coffee features a modern & vibrant interior designed primarily as a standing-only coffee bar. The cafe blends sleek steel counters with warm wooden accents and walls made of wood panelling. A key feature is the whimiscal & colourful ceiling ---- which has a ribbon-like installation with multi-colored (yellow, pink, blue, green) translucent panels that cast vibrant hues across the space. Warm lighting softly illuminates the retail wooden shelves, lined with coffee-related products and accessories. The entire design, including a narrow steel strip of communal table and bum rests, is intended to facilitate a high turnover rather than extended lounging. ️ This concept reminds me of standing ramen or sushi bars in Tokyo, where you order, eat and go. As the cafe was closing soon at 4pm, I ordered an Iced Matcha Latte priced at SGD7.50 for a takeaway, as I was also in a hurry. The Iced Matcha Latte was a smooth and refreshing drink with a balanced grassy matcha flavour, lightly sweetened and blended with creamy milk.︎ Even as a quick takeaway, it tasted clean, full-bodied, and was very easy to enjoy. The service staff were friendly and efficient.
