After being away from Hong Kong for several years, I couldn't wait to enjoy some authentic local food again. With the challenges Hong Kong has been facing, it was genuinely heartwarming to see Chick & Rice's Hainanese Chicken still bustling with customers. Seeing local businesses continue to thrive gives me hope. The food certainly didn't disappoint. The quality has remained consistently excellent, and the chicken reminded me why Hong Kong's poultry is so special. Compared with the chicken I've had overseas—especially the rotisserie chickens from Costco overseas—the difference is remarkable. The chicken here has a much richer flavour, a firmer texture, and actually tastes like chicken. Overseas, the meat can sometimes be so soft and bland that it feels like eating a paper towel in comparison. I'm truly grateful that this restaurant has maintained such a high standard over the years. I sincerely hope they continue to enjoy great business for many years to come, because when I return to Hong Kong again, this will definitely be one of the places I'll be looking forward to visiting.
