Popped by since we were near the area. The baker did advised us to heat up before eating but we didn’t expect the bread to be THAT hard if we had to pick a fav, the metaiko would be the winner out of the three. Is it the best shio pan that’s worth a 2 week preorder? Not really. Will I revisit again? Nah, not even if I’m around the area Price per person: SGD 1–10 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

Visited Kohpan Japanese Bakery at Springleaf and really enjoyed the experience. The shio pan is well-made, with a rich buttery flavour and soft, chewy texture. There’s also a huge shiopan balloon mascot outside, which makes the spot much more visible and easier to find. As they bake in small batches, items sell out quickly, so pre-ordering is recommended. Two cents: must reheat before eating — it really brings out the buttery flavour and gives the bread its best texture. Overall, a quality-focused bakery and a truly shiok-pan experience.
