Malacca Cuisine – Fortress Hill (Electric Road) Food-wise, the place is decent for a quick Southeast Asian fix, but unfortunately the experience was overshadowed by a very questionable transaction. When we ordered, the staff at the counter did not show us a proper itemized receipt. Instead, he only showed the total amount and immediately asked us to tap our Octopus card. Something felt off, so we double-checked the menu pricing ourselves. And the total did not match what we ordered. After raising the issue, he casually “checked” with a colleague and returned the excess amount. However, there was no sincere apology. In fact, the way the money was handed back felt sarcastic and dismissive, which made the situation even more uncomfortable. This raises concerns about whether this is an isolated incident or a recurring practice. As a customer, transparency should be basic. especially when it comes to billing. Advice to others:Always check your receipt and verify the total before paying, especially in smaller diners. Don’t just tap your card without seeing the breakdown. Overall:Food is okay, but the service and integrity need serious improvement. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
