Hosted a dinner here and the experience was impeccable. Private rooms are cosy, and free corkage was a really nice touch after a long day at work :D Shout out to Huey Ling, she is really friendly and understanding, great service. Will certainly come back to Matsukiya.

I just came to Matsukiya after work for a quick drink and some casual bites — but the dish that stayed on my mind was surprisingly their Wagyu rice bowl. It was truly a “why did I only discover this now?” moment. The wagyu was cut into thick, chunky cubes with a slight char from the grill on the outside while remaining beautifully pink and tender inside. Topped generously with bursting ikura and mixed together with the onsen egg, every bite was incredibly satisfying. The rice soaked up all the richness from the wagyu fat and egg yolk, while the ikura added little bursts of umami and freshness. Easily one of the most memorable donburi bowls I’ve had in a long time. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Celebrated Valentine’s Day for a second year in a row there. Arrived at 6pm without reservation(my bad) but Front of House was graciously able to squeeze us in. Food was superb and reasonably priced; and the service was fantastic. Food was served pretty quick too, we took our time to eat but was out within an hour. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: SGD 50–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
