STAY AWAY. A disgrace to both Korean and Italian Cuisine. Got the Beef Tartare, Bossom, and Uni Sea Urchin rice. Pretentious Korean restaurant that tries so hard to be something it isn't. Beef Tartare was vastly under seasoned, you can taste the Iron from the blood of the cow. The Pear and ounce of sesame oil doesn't help cover it one bit. The Bossom tasted like the rubber inside a golf ball. One has to wonder how do you desecrate a cut of meat that is 50% fat. They attempt to mask the golf ball with a sauce I can only describe as repulsive. I can microwave a Pork Belly to be more tender than this. Disgusting. Uni Sea Urchin Rice was the only positive, but at almost 400 HKD it would be criminal if it wasn't half decent. STAY FAR AWAY. There are dozens of Korean restaurants a stone throw away that are every bit better than this place. Moyo on Aberdeen Street is a great spot if you are visiting the SoHo area of Hong Kong. The food feels playful and well judged, with bold flavours that still feel balanced, and the menu has a few dishes that are genuinely worth going back for. The must-orders for me are the carbonara rice cakes, the beef tartare, and the Korean fried chicken. The rice cakes are rich and indulgent in the best way, the tartare is beautifully seasoned, and the fried chicken is crisp, juicy, and seriously satisfying. One tip: order the half portion of the chicken, because it is still very generous. They also serve really nice makgeolli, which pairs well with the food and is well worth trying. On top of that, the staff are very friendly and helpful, which makes the whole experience feel even better. Definitely one to book in advance though, as they are popular and reservations are a very good idea. Had dinner here during Art Basel week in Hong Kong, and it was a really lovely experience. The restaurant was hosting an art collection, which made the atmosphere feel especially memorable. The modern Korean food was excellent, the wine list was really really strong, and I truly appreciated the proper wine glasses. The owner was very welcoming and clearly knows a lot about both art and wine. Highly recommended if you’re into wine and art. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
