A quiet corner in a loud city. That's hard to find. This is it. In a city like Hong Kong, it's not easy to find a place that isn't crowded. But Oolaa Central has this big window with a high ceiling design — it brings a little bit of the outdoors inside, right in the middle of the city. To be honest this is one of those restaurants I keep going back to. Regularly. No matter if it's brunch, lunch, or even just tea — the quality is very high, and the prices are actually very friendly. Went there today Friday at 11 for brunch with 2 other ppl. Was told they would need the table by 1230 since I didn't have a reservation. That’s fine , no problem. What I didn’t know at the time is one of the friends I was with was going to continue with lunch at the same restaurant from 130pm onwards with 2 of her other friends who had a table booked for 130. So at 1245 when we were asked to leave, I paid the bill, gave a nice tip & moved to the table that was reserved for 130 till her friends arrive. 2 minutes later we were asked if we would move to another table as another group had requested this particular table that we were on. So we were moved to another table by the door. Thing is I was told when making a reservation for the next day Saturday that they didn’t take special seat bookings. So why musical chairs? When I raised this with the server, she was rather rude to me. I wont go into details but I feel today the service was not as friendly as it used to be, the wait for food was long & the servers looked rather unhappy as the line outside for lunch grew longer.Yes the location is good & the decor is nice but it’s a far cry from the good old Castelo days. Sad really coz, a lot of effort had been put into it in the early days to establish a good reputation.
