Raffles town club is a nice place to relax at in close proximity to the city centre and Bukit Timah. The club has a swimming pool, guest rooms and some restaurants. The cafe & terrace is affordable and local (satay and chicken rice among the best in Singapore) , the Japanese and Chinese restaurants are quite traditional. The Chinese restaurant even served shark fin soup which is not a commonality nowadays. Best to visit and use the club now as much as possible, since its lease is expiring.
