Passed by Social Goods the other day and it looked quite promising, so I decided to give it a try. We got the avocado toast with two poached eggs on top. It looked very pretty when it arrived, but unfortunately it lacked in flavor. They probably blended the avocado, making it quite runny. I personally would have preferred more texture, nothing fancy, maybe by having it cut into slices instead. I was still pretty full after the toast, so I didn't get a chance to try any of their pastries. I might have to next time though, since all of them looked very delicious. Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: HK$200–250 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

SOCIAL GOODS MODERN BAKERY Hidden away on Pottinger Street in Central is one of Hong Kong's hottest brunch spots. I stumbled across it during a doom-scrolling session looking for places to eat in Hong Kong, and it was the pastries that immediately caught my attention. We stopped by for coffee and their famous Eggies - a creative take on the classic Hong Kong egg tart, reimagined in the shape of an egg. We were lucky enough to visit during the release of their seasonal Matcha Eggie. There was far too much to choose from, but I eventually settled on the sausage roll and the HK Milk Boba Danish. The sausage roll was a little underwhelming for me, mainly because the sausage itself was quite dry. The Matcha Eggie and Boba Danish, however, were excellent and definitely lived up to the hype. Be prepared to wait. We spent around 45 minutes waiting for a table inside, although we were able to enjoy a cold drink outside while waiting. My friends ordered from the brunch menu and the plated dishes looked just as tempting as the pastry selection Meal type: Brunch

Amazing food, amazing coffee, and beautiful presentation. The steak bowl was perfectly cooked, the brunch plate was fresh and satisfying, and the pastries were buttery and delicious. Every dish looked as good as it tasted, and the coffee was smooth and expertly made. Definitely a place worth coming back to. Meal type: Brunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
