日曜の18時に訪問。シグナル8のなかでも営業していた。ほぼ貸切状態で、目の前ですき焼きを焼いてくれた。灘五郷などと同じ系列のお店とのこと。シグナル8の中来てくれたからと牛肉のランクを上げてくれた。すき焼きの肉は大分牛と近江牛で、ともに美味しかった。1080HKDのコースで結構お腹いっぱいになった。. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $500+

We had a wonderful experience dining at Sukiyaki Nakagawa on a Friday night. We rarely visit Japanese restaurants in Hong Kong, as we often travel to Japan and usually keep our Japanese dining experiences for when we are there. However, after hearing so many positive recommendations from friends, we decided to try Sukiyaki Nakagawa for a date night – and we are so glad we did. The restaurant specialises in authentic Kansai-style sukiyaki. Watching Chef Kazuyuki and his team at work was a joy in itself. He took the time to explain each ingredient and preparation method so we knew what to expect, and then delivered quality that exceeded our expectations. Chef Kazuyuki is clearly passionate about his craft, he even prepares his own homemade soy sauce with a light 2-week fermentation using Japanese soybeans. It elevated the flavours of fresh sashimi without overpowering them. It was truly a pleasure to watch him and his team cook and prepare each dish. The highlights were definitely the beautifully prepared Matsusaka Wagyu and Oita Wagyu – both cooked to absolute perfection and incredibly tender. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the meal, even the steamed egg dish, and were lucky enough to indulge in two types of fresh sea urchins. When it comes to the service, as the venue can accommodate up to 14 guests or so, so every guest was well looked after by the team. A special shout-out also goes to the front-of-house team, especially Amber and manager James, who went above and beyond to make every guest feel genuinely welcome and well looked after. Amber made the booking and special menu arrangement experience positive and stress-free. Their hospitality felt sincerely warm and attentive without ever being pretentious – something that is surprisingly rare in Hong Kong’s dining scene.
