What a fantastic find Mato.Coffee.Wine turned out to be. From the moment we stepped inside, the vibe was just right — relaxed, warm, and effortlessly cool without trying too hard. It’s the kind of place that immediately puts you at ease and makes you want to stay longer than planned. The wine selection is excellent. We went for the $600 wine tasting package, which turned out to be one of the best decisions of the evening. For that price you get unlimited pours of six carefully chosen wines, all from northern Italy at the moment. Being able to taste and re-taste as much as we wanted of each bottle was such a generous and enjoyable way to explore the list. The wines themselves were well-chosen, interesting, and showed real range — everything from lighter, fresher styles to more structured and complex ones. It felt special without being pretentious. The staff made the experience even better. Everyone was friendly and attentive, but a special thank-you has to go to Matt. He arranged a comfortable round table for our group and took the time to properly introduce the different wines, explaining the regions, grape varieties, and what made each one distinctive. His knowledge and easy-going manner really elevated the tasting and made us feel looked after rather than rushed. This is easily one of the best spots in Hong Kong for a chilled evening, whether you’re catching up with friends or enjoying a quiet night with your partner. The combination of good wine, a pleasant atmosphere, and genuinely welcoming service makes it a place we’ll definitely return to. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a relaxed, high-quality wine experience without the usual formality.
